Dear Chapter 15 Members,

It has been my pleasure to serve. Unfortunately, the coronavirus has foiled our plans to elect officers—two meetings canceled due to the fear of spreading the virus. For months, I have spoken to and sent out feelers to obtain a new president and vice president before my exit on April 15, 2020. I have enjoyed interacting with all of you. But it is time to pass the gavel. I’ll be around, and I plan on seeing you throughout the year at some of the ACMOC events. This is not goodbye.

Until we get past this isolation phase our community/state/country is going through, I have asked Greg Shandel to be Acting President, and Eric Shandel to be Acting Vice President. They have agreed to serve up to two years unless you desire another candidate when elections are held (probably a year from now). They are accepting the responsibility to keep chapter 15 active, and I much appreciate their willingness to plug the hole.

I encourage you to continue supporting ACMOC Chapter 15. I encourage you to hold an office with the chapter. I’ve said it before, and I am saying it again: those of us on this team have always believed leadership should rotate, giving the club new ideas, opportunities, and continue the camaraderie.

We always welcome new leadership, so now is the time for you to volunteer to hold office if you don’t believe my choices are valid. Just hit reply and let me know you are able and willing. You have until April 10, 2020. That gives me five days to communicate with the remaining officers.

Sincerely,

Doug Veerkamp, Past President (effective April 15, 2020)

P. S. I hope to see you at the Patrick Ranch event June 13th and 14th.

It’s been great having Doug V. and Shawn as our leaders of the revived Chapter 15. I hate to see them ride off into the sunset, but they are keeping their promise and only sticking things out for two years. They have brought back a lot of enthusiasm for the hobby, and successful filled the void that was created when the former leader retired from the chapter. Thank you!
Hats off to Greg and Erik for stepping up and taking on the responsibilities of continuing Chapter 15, Cal-Sierra Tracklayers...we hope that this transition can be made official at the Patrick Ranch Show in Durham, CA.
I also wish to personally thank Vicki S. for being the official club photographer, Lorili aka Ciao for being club Journalist and Sue W. aka BarStart for keeping the figures straight. My fellow members are awesome as well, it wouldn’t be a club without them!
We are fortunate to have one of the best chapters around! JM

I hope you'll join us all at the Patrick Ranch, on June 13th and 14th to personally thank Doug, Shawn, and of course Greg and Erick and all of chapter 15 for their camaraderie.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
