Hi Jason,

Yes the BoD has decided to try sending the Magazine this way to save on costs, if any members get a damaged magazine please let us know. The BoD has identified annual savings close to $10,000 in mailing and paper quality, we are continuing to find ways of cutting costs without compromising service to the membership.

There may in the near future be an option for members to elect to access the magazine only electronically to save on printing and mailing costs. Further research at BoD level is taking place as to what the membership dues for this might be. there will always be a hard copy magazine available for those who cannot access the website, however the cost of this in the future will be reflected in the dues of those who wish to continue receiving a hard copy. We are now in the 21st Century so are trying to keep up with technology and at the same time meet what our diverse demographic membership want/need.

The NEW BoD is looking for feedback from the membership to ways to save money and to maintain or better still improve service to members.

I agree, I keep every issue and don't want a messed up cover. I would pay extra for the regular mailer if need be.

No wonder it's so hard to find people to serve on the board. No matter WHAT you do, you get bitched at...

Thumbs down on only printing four of the issues and making the other digital. Another organization tried the only digital magazine and they lost a lot of there membership. Not everyone even today is into digital. Not everyone has a computer or phone where they can read a digital.

I receive some magazines in both print and digital form. I totally dislike trying to read a magazine in digital form. It doesn't matter if it is on a computer or on a phone.

Many collect the magazine and is one of the main reasons they are a member. Making two of the six issues as digital only would be a turn off for being a member or becoming a member if they have a interest in collecting them. I think is should stay six issues for 2019 and consider making it a quarterly magazine in 2020 and beyond. That way every issue gets printed and the collectors will not have missing issues because of the digital only. Going to four issues only may make the magazine more pages but in the long run should reduce the overall cost of the printing and shipping the magazine.

Hi, Folks.
As I understand it, this measure has been taken to try to reduce costs and help keep the club afloat in a time of very reduced income and liquidity. With that in mind and for those of you who disapprove, I would suggest that, if you are not happy with the idea, you volunteer for the club's magazine committee and work to find other ways of helping to keep the club - and the magazine - afloat.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
