I have a D6 9U with a Hyster D6N winch. Currently there is no cable on the winch. I do not know what size cable to put on, how many feet it holds or where to get cable with needed ferrule. Any help would be appreciated

This shows the specification and capacity for the cable sizes.

I believe the load you expect plus a safety margin will determine the cable size adjusting for the specific grade of cable.

https://www.uscargocontrol.com/collections/custom-wire-rope (this link might get you started ??) Cursory peek, shows some explanations of the various types and grades of cable.

Horror stories abound about breaking cables - like anything else under tension - they are wicked!
