Hi all, Have a Major problem with Jugs on our Thirty, 3 have Cracks [Probably Freeze Cracks ] in them.  No 1 bad , I have seen Them welded with what appears to be Bronze , Just wondering what other Folk have seen or Used , Cast welding Rods and what Type ? Pre heat and Slow cooling ? Maybe someone May have a spare Jug they Would Sell ? Has to come to Australia , Cannot understand this unit as the Motor is Fully Rebuilt Brgs, Rings , Valves Etc, and I doubt if ever Started , yet Cracks are visible . Maybe it was Rebuilt and left outside and Frosted . Sure appreciate any Help and Advise .  LJ

Hi, Lance.
Suggest you have a chat with this gentleman: https://www.cuttingedgeengineering.com.au/

He and his wife have a heap of videos on You Tube of jobs that he has done and he appears to have at two clues to rub together. They are based at Yatala.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

When I took apart a big 20 engine, the jugs felt strange, almost like the outside was a bit soft. It turned out that the jugs must have been cracked and somebody wrapped them in fiberglass. They did not leak and by the looks of the dirt on the jugs, they had been run like that for a long time. They make high temperature epoxy that should easily stand up to engine water temperatures. it might be worth a try for you? Grant.
