I thought I would share some fun I had a month ago when the main California winter rains had stopped. I had purchased an Olive tree really cheap (kinda had it thrust upon me) which had a 36" x 36" base box. I got idea with some help of a friend to move the tree where I was going to plant it on the side of a hill near my newly landscaped front yard with my D2 Arch. Wife hates the looks of my logging arches but why not prove to the wife the arches value correct? 🙄

Well I learned the hard way that while the ground by my shop and on most of my property was firm and reasonably dry, that would not be the case where I wanted to plant this tree. I learned that when ground is wet as 2 minute oatmeal, you are bound to not get what you bargained for.

I posted a before picture when I was hauling the tree after just having picked it up by my shop and the after is fairly explanitory.

Three weeks after multiple instances of shoveling and letting the ground dry I was able to free the tractor and arch up and through my total stubborness and unwillingness to be beat I was eventually able to get the tree planted on the hillside.

Hi, Dunefanatic.
Ooooppss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The best laid plans of mice, men and Dunefanatic.

So what does the cook think of the arch now?

I hope that when you had finished tearing up the landscape in such a disrespectful fashion, you restored it to its former glory.

Thanks for sharing.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

I would say that is a good reason to buy another Cat so you have one sitting high and dry and ready if the need for a tow should ever be needed again.
