My condolences to George's widow and family. He was a very brilliant and talented man. I first met him while I moonlighted for a rice farm in Butte County. He had a Hardy Harvester (twin Cat engined) completely stripped down to a mere skeleton, and I thought how is this guy going to get it ready for harvest in less than two weeks? Unbelievable, as he had her done in amazingly short time and had so many neat stories to share while he was on the clock. His metalwork was amazing as well. There would only one George Rankin R.I.P. Sir! You will be missed.
Thanks for letting everyone know Roy. JM

Thankyou for letting us know Roy, I regret not getting the chance to visit with George because it sounds like he was not only a talented craftsman, but a really good man too, that's the combination I really respect.
Rest in peace George.

I enjoyed meeting and talking with George at a few shows through the years. I sure would have liked to spend a week with him in his shop.

A loss for all who knew him. RIP George

This is very sad news for George's family, he will be dearly missed. Not only that he will be missed in our family as a man with great knowledge, skills, and quality. Tho I never met him several phone conversations with him on parts and life stories he was truly a great man. He was a man who loved what he did and helped many collectors with their parts needs at an amazing price. I wish George's family the best during these hard times.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
