Early last week, I started to put a list together of some of the different generator gears. This list has not been proofed nor is it complete. I have a bunch of my parts books that I need to find yet and add the information from them. I also hope to add pictures of the gears I have to the list in the future. The first column is the gear number, Second column is the lighting, starting or generator group number, and the third column is the serial numbers that the group number was used on.

It would be nice if we could post PDFs or spreadsheets on this website.

Thanks

Ken

Great idea Ken! If Deebo is out there, he is the guy that can make it happen, as he is our "head librarian" sort of speak.

I can't imagine the amount of time and effort it took to compile that list. Thank you sir, JM.

Brian 18A beat me to the pictures. I pulled the generator on the Twenty Eight tonight to get pictures. The one I have is a little different. I will post pictures of it tomorrow.

I see that! Hopefully I can buy one but if not would you mind sharing some measurements. Width, diameter, face of gear to hub.

Thanks again

HI! I was not going to take the time to draw it out really nicely. If I were to make one, I would make it like the one in Brian18A's pictures, because I would not want to cut the sunken area on each side. The hole and key way should be the same as the gear you already have. I saw your ad for Twenty Eight parts. I am looking for one jug, with no cracks or repairs and standard size with out any major pitting so that it will clean up when I bore it.

Thanks

Sorry I don't have any top end parts for sale. I appreciate your measurements, is the 1.330 face of gear to face of hub? So the gear itself is roughly 1” wide?

thank you

The gear itself is 1.160" wide with an overall width of 1.280 with the small hub that sticks out at the shaft hole. The OD is a touch bigger than I measured because there are not two teeth directly across from each other with the odd number of teeth. The 1.330" is the outside diameter of the small hub, which is at the outside end of the hub. It is a little larger toward the center of the gear. .750" hole with a 5/32" wide key way.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
