This lack of postings and involvement is not very encouraging, participation waning to near zero. If the ACMOC Forum, For Sale, etc. does not pull itself together with the members working together, it will be as DEAD as the other "offshoot" club's site. Don't believe me, go look for yourselves! Total FAILURE! (ask the members you know, see what they tell you, promises made, expectations and realization of vitality - GONE)
Everyone suffers, the Chapters, the members, the guest and the perspective interested persons. Your participation matters and is vital to the health of the club. How do you encourage membership when one sees this lack of interaction?
There are the persons working very hard in the background, do not let their efforts be in vain - they CARE and are doing it for you- the CLUB. They are fighting a tough battle, trying to balance the performance and funding issues, then add the increasing threats on any web based program. Tough to keep up with let alone with the complexities of ACMOC's intricate, multi-faceted needs!
Yes - this web issue is very frustrating, discouraging and what ever else you wish to describe it, some not acceptable for printing here. I experience the same problems you each do, so I understand the issues as far as my knowledge allows.
Quitting is not an option, keep posting, Failure looms without the diligence to get it done!

Thank you CTS. Correct, we need some participation, please do not allow (several) hiccups discourage anyone from posting/participation in the the forum etc.
A HUGE thank you owed to Deebo for spending many hours behind the scenes, listening and working with the webmasters to work the kinks out of the system. If I failed to mention anyone else, my bad, but Deebo has ran with your concerns as quickly as he could to make folks happy. If and when this site gets dialed in, perhaps we can forget about it. We do not live in a perfect world (wouldn't that be nice?) Unfortunate, fixes cannot be instantaneous as we hope for.
I hope Ray54 sees this as "The Confuser" as he calls it is a tool that many of us struggle with on a daily basis. Not just here folks!
If I had listened to my own mama, I would have used my education to become computer savvy of some sorts, but I chose to do other things; I wished someone such as Neil P. would chime in and offer some suggestions, as I was under the impression he used to be an IT person for a major business at one time.
Leave your big mallet in the cabinet for now please. Thank you all for your patience. JM
Juiceman, sir this is the problem want to be posters have The site is next to impossible to use. And certainly not enjoyable as one would wish. It seem like this site is geared towards moderators, volenteers and other big shots of the antique yellow. From where the person in need of a little knowledge stands, it a long way up!
Members, guests, readers & participants of this forum and club.
As Juiceman stated, Deebo has been busting through the gates to get what he can done to make this site work. The hours he spends working for you must be astounding, and as a volunteer! Put yourself in that seat. Give the club the time that you could otherwise be spending on other ventures.
Myself, like everyone else is getting older, technology has long passed my comfort level. I do not comprehend or begin to understand how these programs work behind the scenes, the engine that drives them. My ability to perform the "simple" task of changing spark plugs in the pickup has long been in the rearview mirror. Computers drive everything with our equipment and lives. I would be in deep manure without those that do know and understand, and I am not alone!
In our adventures in the world of working and playing with machines of all colors, especially CATERPILLAR YELLOW OR GRAY, we find ourselves with situations and problems that are unexpected and take expertise and knowledge to guide us to repair and allow operable condition. Each of us has or will experience these perplexing problems and each of us will reach for help. The forum is just as important as that wrench (spanner?) in your tool box!
ACMOC has "volunteers" sharing that valuable knowledge and expertise all through this forum. "OUR" volunteers, and moderators put countless hours without compensation or in many cases WITHOUT even a simple acknowledgement or THANK YOU. They do this for you, the member! Many of the BoD are also filling multiple positions, vacancies that are not filled. The CLUB needs "volunteers" to fill those vacancies and help guide this club to success. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. PARTICIPATION IS KEY! The choices are yours, band together solving the problems as they arise or do nothing and lose the years of work and knowledge that went into creating ACMOC.
Thank You, each and every one of you that is working for this club. Your service is recognized and appreciated! Thank You to the participants of this forum, please do not get discouraged and quit.
Together as a club - united in our quests - we can "KEEP 'EM CRAWLIN'"

Thank you for pushing the issue CTS. I opened my mouth in another thread with the very same concerns you put forward. I am 10,000 times deeper into confusers than I thought I would be only 20 years ago. Back when computers were at a Holt 2 ton level (77 to 79) I took a class and had to write code for 2+2= 4 basically. But i passed that nightmare and got a degree in AG Business, came home to the ranch have kept busy ever since. And said I will never get into computers, but here I am. I can observe, but no idea how to improve this operation.
Any way the front room could be put on a ready made platform? I can see were the business end of ACMOC could need custom software. I have been lead to believe a ready made discussion board is dirt cheap compared to what has been spent on this and previous ACMOC sites. Just my less than 2 cents worth. But any computer incite I had dyed along with my son this last March. Not to confuses any that may have been chased away from his BBQ pit at The Best of the West show,by my son, that is my second son.
Thank You Ray54, I can not personally relate to losing a son but know there is and always will be an empty spot at your table. You and your family have my sympathy and condolences.
Someone surely has the knowledge and expertise to help guide the BoD on this journey. It certainly is not me as I have limited ability just to attempt to run the programs I do use. The Adobe Suites (programs for photo processing) are my challenge and they are one I probably will never get beyond the beginner stage. CTS
Ray sorry for your loss of your son.
With AI and before that was the whole work / school from home it’s like whole computer industry has changed completely in the past 5 years. It seems like every os update everything that I normally use is moved, replaced or just deleted. Where I work they updated their internal website, the director was so happy about the new “image” basically everything that people that actually did work used was deleted you know for that new look. The Internal search function brings up nothing remotely relevant. By that standard the volunteers here are doing a wonderful job… for free mind you.
the site isnt that hard to use.
is it DIFFERENT to the old one yes!
yes had to be.
are their teething issues yes always will be with new systems.
is posting images as easy as it was on the old site no.
does certain functions not work properly yes.
is that any post start at the beginning rather than the last comment annoying yes is it a deal breaker no.
"i reject your reality and substitute my own" - adam savage. i suspect my final words maybe "well shit, that didnt work"
instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality
Hello all,
Just testing the waters here.
Purchased a D2 5u and have been restoring it
Old dog new tricks as far as using this site.

Hi, james-thompson-3475.
Congratulations on catching 'yellow fever'. You realize, of course, that this disease IS incurable and the only relief is more yellow iron.
I would suggest persevering with the board 'coz there is LOTTTTZ of knowledge and experience hiding in the cracks and amongst the curtains.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Hi, james-thompson-3475
Do not get discouraged - sometimes one reaches a stubborn bolt and the only way to get by it is one turn at a time. Lots of great people and lots of information here that you will not find anywhere else. cts
