Just an update if anyone wants the weather report:
I need to run the AC in my vehicles. If I sat on a machine long enough, I would hang an umbrella.
I putted around the house and yard. I might move another D2 with a small Murray scraper to touch things up before I make a larger mess.
Lynda got herself a new set of sneakers so she can participate in some street parades.
Ernie’s little brother has to go barefoot until he cleans himself up. Did anyone know that gassers can be temperamental at times? Some fixes to the fenders and such needed before any consideration of new lipstick.
Looking good, amigo!

Breadler needs to update his "list" of machines!
It is a good thing its only March. No rush to plant anything in the garden just yet. I think after I am done "hoarding" today, I will prep my long legged D2 4U and a baby Murray carryall scraper to tidy up around the yard. It will begin to look like a used equipment yard here with no room for parking. Cheaper to buy my vegetables from the market, but what fun is that?
Mr. Juiceman, "gassers" temperamental? All that is required is good fuel, hot spark and some confinement, compression does help a bit. With that stated, you now have the reason why those "starting engines" were so beloved by the multitudes of us with rope burned hands and broken wrists/arms from being to lethargic to get out of the way of the crank! RE: vegetables - lemon cucumbers, some tomatoes, red onions and let's not forget the Crenshaw (favorites), cantaloupes and watermelons. I will have someone keep an open eye on your garden and let me know when the picking is right. (will bring my own box and bucket). Will I have to elbow my way in past the throngs of others? - cts
Perhaps I should plant some safflower near the road. Bring hip waders to protect yourself. Friends are always welcome to any of our gardens (more than one spot). Just don't get carried away please!
Story from my youth: We used to plant several acres of watermelons and mixed melons for family, friends and vendors that we liked; one day a guy told me to get the F out and some other unmentionable words. Turns out he was someone that was not invited to pick, and my big brother told me to use my D4 and disk EVERYTHING under. Everyone that knew us were furious, they found the guy and blackballed him from everything you could imagine. The end of the Gee Family Garden thanks to one very selfish person. The end. JM
Thank You Gee -- I believe each of us have our stories and woes about the big garden plots that we had as youngsters, some still continue to attempt growing a row or two of sweet corn with the yellow corn or some table tomatoes in with the canning tomatoes. Most have experienced those "helpful ones" in the gardens and fields. Dad had an old John Deere two row corn planter from the horse drawn days, buckets had sweet corn seed in them, it was in the orchard next to a canal, the State Highway on the far side of the canal. He went out after work to pull another section and the planter was GONE! The days of leaving your equipment, trap wagons, etc in the fields are long gone. The extreme you have told about the D4 & Disc are only too familiar for many of us. Thanks for the ride down memory lane, but those memories only raise the awareness of how our values and respect have gone. Sad is an understatement. RE: Safflower - almost equal to a pen full of big hungry guard dogs, I am not too sure which is meaner. - cts
