I aquired an old D7 with a busted side plate. I was wondering if the plate on the left side of the engine was so designed to break in case water was left in it and froze.
Also wondering what your thoughts are on how much more damage this engine might have beyound the cover....
Water pump seems to be in good condition.
Exhaust stack can (coffee can) also had holes in it and the engine was stuck.
Thanks, SnR
Here are some pics of crack.

Is the radiator busted also? Did some one drain the radiator and not the block? If so, the damage will be below the level of the water pump and might not be the horrible nightmare I think you might have there.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
