I am in need of a rebuild kit for my bev 10 carb. Where can a guy get the kit and any info on the carb. This one I have was in pieces when I got my hands on it. I have a pretty good idea on where they all go. But it would be nice to have a schematic if there is something out there. Also when I got this Cat it came with a Fairbanks Morse model J mag. in searching this forum I see that is not the proper mag. Any input on the pros and cons of using this mag would be great.

I'm a little out of my turf on these old gas cats but the info I have shows the 10 & 15 using the Eisemann GV-4 magneto. Also an option to use the American Bosch MJB 4A 102 with coupling IC 408 V12 on the 10, 15, & 20.

I have often heard the Fairbanks Morse unit as being a preferred unit for its rugged construction and reliability.

Some body help if I'm not on target😊 😊

O.M.

Do you have a picture of what the GV-4 looks like?

Thanks,

John

O.M.,

Is this one?

I noticed that this one didn't have the retard lever as the one in your picture. Does the PV15 have a rod to retard the timing? Or is that an option on the GV-4 magnetos?

John

Hi John,
My info shows the 10 & 15 as using the same GV-4 magneto. Both the drawing and the picture clearly shows the timing arm.

Not being all that familiar with the 10 & 15 that's all I can tell you.
Hopefully some one else can verify.

Thanks OM, must have had brain freeze. It has been cold these parts. I just got home to review my magazine and saw your correction. Yep, that's the guy. Also, for help with the mag, try these guys http://standardmagneto.com/

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
