Just a friendly reminder, since several folks have called seeking clarification. Yes, it will be at The Dry Creek Ranch, 6852 Dry Creek Rd Rio Linda, CA on May 15 and 16 ( Friday and Saturday). Friday is usually for the school kids and media. Our main play day is Saturday, and the hosts welcome anyone to drive machines, etc. in the field on Sunday as well.

Yes. I am bringing a PLOW and we have several implements staged for use if you ask!

We will let Art Nelson of CAT NIGHT game run the machines while we pig out at one of their BBQ stands.

Here is the correct flyer. Hope to see many of you there! JM

Thanks PW. Yours is pretty nice too. Someone added slobber bits to the ends of this one. Looks like I will need to bring something to tow it with. JM

JM, your starting rope is a "bit" short, sorry I can not be there to capture the events and enjoy the friendships of old and forge new ones. Enjoy, be safe in all that everyone does. Please tell my friend, my long lense focal length is just a bit short, he is safe (this time around). -- cts

Wow, JM, that setup on the trailer (and the trailer) are just the bee's knees. Is the plow semi-mounted or fully trailing? and how easy do you find it to back it off?

Trailing rollover. I suppose a skilled skinner such as myself just backs it off! The crazy wheel at the rear can be a pain, because when the unit is lowered, it will hang over the tail. I thought about making a support leg for it, but then again, I prefer it lowered to eliminate the high center of gravity.

Field is actually very moist this time. Normally it is bone dry like cement. No water truck required this round.

We've had some plow days cancelled due to the fields being too wet, and this in an area that has a lot of glacial "sand" content in the soil so quite freely-draining

I kind of wish they would have left some stubble for me to turn over/bury with the plow. Oh well. Good thing is that dust should be minimal, so we do not scare the city folks away. Our water truck operator will be earning revenue this weekend, so he will not be available to make some folks wet or give them rides.

Next weekend some of us will try to make Santa Margarita aka Best of the West.

Wherever you may end up, please enjoy yourselves. JM

My family heirloom D4C getting some exercise by Breadler; mostly man, part gopher lol. The folks on the wagon rides commented again how each cycle of the ride, he got deeper until you couldn’t see him. We waited to see him strike water.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
