Good day all. I have a D2 serial number 5U707. When I opened the starter clutch assembly to replace bearings and a dog arm, I found that there doesn't appear to be any end plate-bearing housing or brake clutch pack that I see in the manual, or in some rebuild videos. There is only the spider sleeve, and the housing doesn't have the cage where you would have the brake clutch discs. Parts 2A3616, 2A4792, and 2A4208 from the manual are not part of the assembly.
Can anyone enlighten me on why this version is different, and how the shaft is kept from spinning?
From memory and its been awhile since I've had a 5u but I think the only difference is the engagement handle. It sounds like you might be missing some parts in yours.

I'm not sure why the pictures aren't loading, but I posted a picture of the end plate housing. It's different from what ive seen in videos, it doesn't have the cage for the brake clutch discs. If there were supposed to be discs inside when I took it apart, this current housing would not support them. Strange.

from memory later units use a taper cone type clutch brake.
