.
Do they make a deceleration peddle for the old standard shift dozers ?

Or could one be made and work like the newer models have in the floor ?

Don't know what machine you're thinking of but I found on Cat's online parts site that a D6c 26K tractor is a direct drive / flywheel clutch machine and it shows a decelerator in the parts listing.

All of the old standard shift dozers that I have seen only had a throttle leaver on the dash,
but no deceleration peddle on the floor like the newer models have.

The models with the ratcheting mechanism to hold the throttle position made on the governor would be hard to have a decelerator. If the locking/holding part is at the throttle lever, then it wouldn't be too hard to make the change to a decelerator work.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Now that I have a blade on my 17R D6C, I have wondered about putting one on. What all is needed to put one on? The throttle holding mechanism is at the base of the lever on the dash. Maybe get one out of a wrecking yard?

Thanks

Hi Bumpus, You did not mention the serial number of the tractor you wanted to put the pedal on. My understanding is that any tractor that was available with a powershift transmission came with a decelerator pedal, and that the decelerator pedal was an option on the direct drive(standard shift) version of the same machine.
This photo shows the factory installed decelerator pedal on my D7E 47A(direct drive) in use. 👍

Hi Bumpus , like seiscat stated , the power shift models had decellerator pedals , except the D4D . On this machine it was an option . We had one in the seventies but we installed a decellerator ourselves . the Netherlands , johan7

I have just been thinking that I would like to buy an old Cable Blade D6 with standard shift some day and
I would like to have a deceleration peddle on it like the newer power shift models have.

Just dreaming I guess.

When in the market for a dozer, we looked at a D4D powershift with decelerator (two pedals, one near each brake since there are steering levers on the floor). Liked the machine, straight blade with tilt, but we passed on it because no winch and retrofitting one would have required installing a pto disconnect behind the tranny.

The one we bought with 4A manual angle/tilt blade and winch was powershift but no decelerator until we installed one.
You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40 If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
