Hey Fellas, Well the old girl hasn't caused me any issues for a while which has been delightful. Anyway, a few pictures of the mischief we've been up to.

Pushing the top off for the excavator

And again, getting the hang of this slot thing

Bloke building a new dugout and needed the floor level taken down a meter or so. Really long pushes and not a straight wall to begin with but we got there in the end.

Hi, Misterskill.
Good stuff and thanks for sharing. I have long thought that the D9G was a better dozer than the D9H which followed it. The heavier blade on the H series made them a little front heavy and also caused frame cracking issues above the equaliser bar until Cat beefed that area up a bit. The Hs were also more inclined to bust planetary final drives due, I suspect, to the extra 25 donkeys under the lid.

A 'kwestyun' if I may: That ripper appears to me to have originally been a single shank ripper with the pin puller and the rear push block to which some enterprising soul has added the two extra pockets. The afore-mentioned pin puller and rear push block and the fact that the two outer pockets appear to be in line with the outer edges of the tracks instead of with the centerline of the tracks are what make me suspect that this is the case. Are you able to verify this? Checking out the welds might give a clue.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

I reckon you might be right. Serial of the Ripper is 50G.

The theory with the rippers further out was too help getting the walls straight.

Hi, Misterskill.
"Getting the walls straight." Yep, that would make sense, even though there are other ways of doing it. Depending on the material, this 'trick' might well be quicker

Thanks for the reply and the extra photo.

Hi, Misterskill.
I picked that this was your machine from the ripper beam even before I saw your name as the poster.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
