Gentlemen,

Was looking for a wood processor and came across an old sawmill. It had a cat engine for the power source. I got some of the information off of it and was wondering the year and if there was parts still readily available. Here is some of the info I collected.

Cat model D8800
Serial # 6S 8877 ( I think, not sure , hard to make out, numbers are old and stamped )
Cylinders 4
Bore 5 3/4"
Stroke 8"
HP 98
No load 1100rpm
Full load 1000

Clutch
Model B-114-P1
Spec# 24147

4 belt pulley off the clutch

Don't know if it is seized, didn't have any tools to try to turn it over, and apparently it has been sitting for a few years. The exhaust was not covered when I looked at it. Put the old javex bottle back on with a rock on top.

Do you think it is worth investigating, or just to much involved to get her back running. It looks complete, pup motor, rad, etc.

It's an oldie but a goodie. It's worth checking out and there should be plenty of new and used parts for it.
