I am trying to identify the pony motor on my D8 1H. It is not original to the machine. I put it on about 20 years ago but have since lost the information on it. There are stampings on the side of 4B8840 and A UARC.  If there is a serial number where would that be?

I am also trying to locate another electric starter motor housing. the flanges on mine have broken off, and the gear teeth are so wore down they won't catch any longer. This is another item my dad located in a yard 30 plus years ago and is not original to my D8. the stamping number on the housing is 6B9158.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated, including if anyone knows of a yard where they might still have starter housings available. Thanks!

Thanks Gemdozer. I have been unable to locate a housing so I am going to try and have the flange welded back on by a welder who works with iron. Also I am going to try and find a machine shop that would build the teeth up on the gear. I am not certain what else to do at this point.

yes that's the casting number on my gear. That would be great! Let me know what you want for it and how to arrange to send you the funds. That gear is more of a problem for me than the housing at this point. Thank you so much. Let me know if you want me to email you or if the forum is OK.

Hi Gemdozer, I am just following up on your post about possibly having the correct gear. Can you please let me know if you do, and if so what would you want for it? Thanks.
