Sorry for posting all over the place.

I have bought two linings for the clutch brake and both are organic. Cat advises the sintered bronze lining is NA and searching the Internet reveals no obvious sources of the metal lining.

The first organic lining lasted about and hour and I have heard that the Cat one is not much better. The dealer said another D7 17A owner refuses to use the organic lining because they simply do not last.

So does anyone know where to get the metal lining?

we used to use green gripper brake linings on lifts and crane brakes after asbestos was banned and they lasted just as well
ABS brakes was supplier and the linings were in a flat sheet and they would bond them to any of our shoes or discs we wanted done

Thanks Paul

I contacted ABS today and they are talking to a bloke in Sydney about industrial friction materials etc.

Hopefully this will turn up something useful😊

Cut it out of a section of bushing stock?
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Yup looking at sourcing some stock material too which might end up being the best solution.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
