Any idea if this missing bolt would be the cause or just exit wound? I would also it like to replace it, anyone kbowbthe bolt size needed?

possibly 5/16 or 3/8 unc. all bolts on these are unc or unf.

if you have a parts book you can look up the part number for the bolt. and get the specifications. then go to your local bolt shop and buy one.

first step is a few cans of degreaser and clean the machine. you cant diagnose leaks on a dirty machine, you'll just chase ya tail. a little oil makes a lot of mess.

you really want to worry when it stops leaking. as that means no oil in it.

Taped hole into cast are most likely NC and not fine. Cat was also good to use the same size fasteners on a whole assemble. They might be different lengths but the same size.

Probably 3/8-16, possibly 5/16-18, and probably one inch long, possibly 7/8

I'm going suggest that it is probably a stud and a nut, rather than a bolt. Here's a couple of screenshots of the parts diagram for a D8 2U starting engine, it should be the same as used on the D7 3T
