Fixed the mag on the pony motor. Replaced oils in the motor, hi lo trans, and hand crank. Pony fired up fairly easy. Problem is the clutch doesn't seem to be working properly. I have to idle the pony right down, and pull the pinion in. The pinion grinds a little when this happens. I also have to hold the pinion lever in while starting the main engine. My understanding is the pinion lever should pop in and stay until the main fires up and then it kicks out. The clutch lever only moves a couple inches each way if that helps.

3T will have a dry clutch with a clutch brake activated when the clutch lever is pushed towards the engine.
The clutch lever will be the bottom one.
Push the bottom lever towards the engine and wait for the pinion to stop spinning before engaging the top pinion lever. Yes the pinion should stay locked in.
