When the throttle is snapped over center to off position it is all the way back and when the throttle is all the way on the actual travel is set with the rack setting specs but as far as the rack has a given travel from shutoff to full I doubt if there is a spec listed for that. The fuel setting on the rack also depends of which governor spring is used also. Also along with knowing what spring is in it for the correct setting you need the special tool (fixture) to set the rack travel.

By my years of experience a weak gov. spring limits the rack travel under load so there will probably be no smoke and lower power. They have two springs and settings to go with them so if you replace the spring try and get the same number that,s in it. They list a 5F6413 and a 5F1941 but they have different rack travel settings so that,s why to put in the same number spring if you change it. Also other parts in the governor can be worn that should be repaired (replaced) but get someone to help you with it if you have no experience doing it.I always liked the 5F6413 but as I stated if it hasn,t been set up for that spring on the rack setting it won,t help much.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
