I need to get a puller for this seal, not sure what will work as it is in pretty deep. Any suggestions on what will work? I hope to keep from mutilating the seal and digging it out piece by piece.

I have always screwed in a sheet metal screw to opposite sides of the metal part of the seal and use a slide hammer to pull it.

I was thinking this yesterday, weld up some way to attach to the screws, use largest screws possible.

Another vote for the screws method - works well. If you spray some freeze-spray on the seal, it'll shrink it just a tad. Any advantage you can get will help

Or you can jack up motor and remove support to take out 3 bolts on trunnion and change seal on bench.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
