Hi just pick up a 1959 D4 7U tracks on it are pretty well shot. Im new to crawlers it has a 6.75 inch pitch but not sure what other measurements have to be the same. Anyone know any other machines that use the same tracks? Also i see Alibaba makes dozer tracks are they any good? I know for  normal dozers theyre probably junk but for home use would they be ok? Also where do you buy new sprockets or i saw there’s weld on teeth sections to weld on top of a worn sprocket? Not sure if that’s still a thing or not. Thanks

Cat parts are more plentiful than the other brands, so I would think they will be easier to find than a make fit solution. Life could be so much easier if track chain was standardized, but it is not. Every company made it just for themselves. I have not looked for track parts in years so no idea what could be available from aftermarket sources today. In the old days Berco was a quality product, as well as several other companies.

last time i looked ITR had a listing 4 older d4 stuff whether it stayed the same all the way through or not i dont know. of course you can try the dealers if you have a part number ask them to check the classic cat part listings too.
the sprokets can be rebuilt by welding its a slow process. one method described forming suitable steel barstock as a liner and welding that in place. how they used to be done by the dealers was weld a new sprocket ring onto the existing hub and spokes

the later model d4 stuff has the same pitch but the bushing are larger might not be a big deal if your sprockets are worn.
the grouser plates have larger bolts on later models so you would have to drill them out or use later model grousers.
