D4 5T fuel system

Something strange about that filter housing.....should look very similar to the "U"
models and have the drain plug at the bottom of the extension. Can you post some pictures of the upper part of the filter housing and the injection pump housing side.
Can't tell for sure from your picture but is that a brazing repair on the housing??

The pump/filter assembly has some major differences from the U. Primary different I see from the U maintenance manual is the bolt-on plate sizes. The first picture was the lower end of this picture.
No brazing repairs have been done, just old paint and old dirt.
With this picture you also maybe note something else alittle odd. The engine s/n 5T6802-W is setting on a older 2T frame. Thanks Clay

That looks like the correct filter housing but the hour meter is missing and replaced with some crude looking repairs.
It appears the drain extension and plug #1A6813 is there but again it's a little tough to make out in the picture.

OCB, I think the drain is missing... it should be behind that area where the fuel line fitting is. It's held on by two 5/16 bolts and extends down with a cap on the bottom. If it is missing, it must be closed off with a plate with 2 cap screws.

Old Magnet you were 100% correct, there had been a little torch work as you probably suspected from the missing stud near the lower part of your diagram. The plug that goes in that hole in bonded to the casting also.
The bottom line there is no drain so I went the extra mile. I took the fuel inlet off ( I had suspected the the drain to be apart of this item) and some diesel drained. Next I took the cover 7B4289 ( above the weld) off. It drained the filter area but I didn't like like I saw. Looked to be tiny flakes of rust in the bottom. I went one step further opened up the gear pump but it was clean.
I was impressed that the pump was put togather without gaskets.
After much cleaning, flushing and cutting a couple gaskets, I'm about to seal it up.
I did cut a filter up to find clean cords. Also no water.
Another question, each filter is held by a rod. I have 2 steel and 2 fiber rods. Which might have been the original? ( My bet the Steel)

The pump does not have gaskets except where it bolts up to the filter housing base and the side adapter where the line screws in from the main fuel tank. Along with the gasket for mounting there is an "O" ring seal for the fuel passage on the top of the housing but that,s all the gaskets and seal there is.
