I pulled the winch off the tractor today. I looked in the rear inpection hole, to see a couple 9/16 inch ball bearing laying just to the rear of the Steering Clutch Compartment drain plug. Where could these have come from and which way is the best to inspect further.
I don't have a parts manual yet but can borrow a service manual.
As far as operation of the tractor, I didn't suspect anything from the few hours operated.
Thanks Clay

The only ball bearings back there are for the steering clutch thrust bearings.

Thanks for the detailed reply.
After a good inspection and coffee shop talk, it was determined that the previously owner had some steering clutch problems and repair.
No problems found. Thanks again Clay

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
