I am finally breaking down my early version 5U to replace the clutch plate. The fly will on the pony motor needs to be removed due to it not making the Clarence on the clutch housing. Do I need to pull her for this?

Believe you do remove. Use the two threaded holes in the flywheel to pull - DO NOT use a puller that grabs the outer lips of the pulley edges.

Also a good rap with a hammer on the end of the puller while under tension usually helps.

you can search my old posts about removing a balancer on a d6 9U. ( others too, I'm sure)

you can make a puller with a bottle Jack and some long bolts

Ok, figured it out. The pull holes were plugged up with dirt. I see it now. Thanks for the replies.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
