Give Mike or James a call. Cat should have an aftermarket precup made in Italy in their "Classic" line for about $25. Not worth your time to order one from another source given free shipping from Hayward. Rain must have you grounded.

Be interested to hear if you can find them. Last I knew none were available but you can utilize the D4 precup if you rethread the nose down from 1-1/8"- 12tpi to
1" - 12 tpi.

Whooops, coffee hasen't kicked in yet.
That applies to the glow plug chambers....standard chambers are still available.

Bob. If I am wrong about the availability of a Cat Classic precup, check out Costex Tractor Parts. http://www.costex.com/Library/inserts/O-Z/CTPPB087.pdf I am pretty sure I remember seeing several CTP resellers selling precups for your tractor last year.

My D2 book is at the shop so I don't know what part number you are looking for; let me know if Classic or Costex doesn't work. Regal or American Crane may have another source.

Thanks for the help, I will do some looking. Mike it is slow this time of year, things pick up when the weeds start to come up. Gives me time to work on a cat or two.

I'm 90% certain I got my new cups and rubber "o" rings for my D2 4U this year from Florin Tractor in Sacramento, I'm 100% certain that's where I got the steel "retainers" that cover those precombustion chambers as mine were almost rusted through.
regards
Mike

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
