At what point do you throw in the towel and say it is time to retire the old iron. It use to be that fuel was fuel but now the fuel either grows or become bad news. Thus now storing and start up only occasionally becomes more of a problem.
Couple that with a failure when do you take losses and use your repair time for fishing.
I see options of;
1-fixing
2-parting out and scrapping
3-selling as is. (scrapping?)

At this time this is more for discussion but I have two tractors at this point of evaluation and generally I think fixing takes less time than parting but the chain is only as strong as the weakest link which can be the $$$.

Hi, Not sure what you are having trouble with but if it is gasoline going bad try low lead aviation fuel. It lasts much longer and doesn't leave all that nasty crud in your fuel tank as it sets or evaporates. We use it in all gas engines getting only occasional use. Diesel has not been a problem (so far).

I found that the use of a little two stroke oil greatly helped the staying power of gasoline as well as kept the tanks from rusting. The pups only run for a short period so dont worry about the smoke.😛

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
