I bought this machine during thanksgiving weekend. I had found it and went to take a look. I picked it up last Sunday and brought it home. I checked the valves and they are free. primed the cup and she pops. I am working on cleaning carb and gas tank. Here are a few pic to share

Haven't seen one of those high hitches in a long time....think I was told they allowed the use of horse drawn implements back in the transition days. Can anyone add to the mystery?

it would be a whole lot easier to unhook anything behind it IF you ever got it bogged down to the top of the tracks in a Long Island bog! You're probably correct OM on the horse-drawn implements.

I'm curious Jason, do you have to go off-island to get your Cats or do they actually exist out there? You did good with this one wherever you had to go to get it.

Yes most of my collection is from up north in NY or out of state. I have found two machines on long island a super nice 25 and a 30

OM this 22 came from a Apple Orchard in Hudson NY. This one is 1J1560 and I had 1J1563 bought it in CT. like this one it also had the orchard group

I brought the 22 into the shop this past weekend and adjusted the valves as there were a bit off. I am waiting on a fresh mag from Marks Mag in CT. I cleaned out the few mice nests in the seat box and sprayed down all the nuts. I need to remove the seat box in the next week or so in order to install the winch that I bought. Looks like the seat box will have to be raised 4-1/2'' with todays quick glance at the back of machine

I am surprised that it doesn't have the orchard seat on it as it has the hood and exhaust. Its a shame to take that high hitch off . I like it better than the winch. You want to trade for a 10 or 15 high hitch? - Wally

Jason,
That 22 looks to be in great shape. It must have lived a charmed life with an owner who did not abuse her.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
