Guys:

For sale near me is a sloping hood Caterpillar Track Loader. sorry did not get a picture of it as it was cold and snowy.

What years did Cat produce the sloping hood 951 or 955? The machine had been painted over so was not familiar on where exactly to look for the designation.

This machine had an ROPS canopy, Caterpillar casted into the top of the grill in front of the rad.

Any help appreciated! May be adding this to the stable....

Happy Holidays....

Guys: I think I have it figured out the machine is a 955H. Now to find the location of the serial number and its production period. I am thinking the 955H and D4 had some parts and pieces in common?

Although the 955 was developed from the D4 tractor, there are not many parts in common with the 955H, which is a much heavier built machine with a turbo version of the D4 engine and a much heavier back end casing, final drives and undercarriage,.
