Okay brain's trust. On a Cat 30 (as in the S or PS series) do the con rod numbers go to the cam shaft side or the other side. Asking for a friend!

I’d put them facing the cam, however, I’ll check my PS Thirty service manual and see if it says or shows a picture.

So my S/PS Thirty serviceman’s book does not say anything about the numbered side on the rod facing any specific direction. The only reference to rod marking at all is that the cap and rod should be assembled with the marks on the same side. So I doubt it matters, but I’d face them towards the cam.
