In my Caterpillar 22 parts manual it only shows one drawbar. My question is the drawbar on an orchard 22 different in any way from a top seat 22 drawbar? My parts manual doesn't show any orchard fenders or tailseat so if the drawbars were different I don't think my manual would show it. Is there a special 22 manual for the orchard models? Thank You, W. SMITH

The Master Catalog shows fenders and tailseat as attachments, but only one drawbar group for all 1J and 2F Twenty Two Tractors. It also shows a low top seat orchard attachment.

I hope that helps.

Lee, Thank you for the information. I may soon be the owner of an orchard 22 and I now know that I have a drawbar that will fit it. I will be real busy this year working on my Caterpillars and the farm. W. SMITH

I have a low-top orchard and my brother has a standard, the only notable difference is the plate over the draw-bar it's sometimes called a "foot-plate" or "step". Its' just a plate over that goes over the top guide of the draw-bar w/ notches for the supports that run from the transmission to the guides and holes that line up w/ the ones on the guides and it bolts to the fenders.

Hi Orchard22, The plate that you speak of is part of the fender attachment group in the catalog. It is called a 2B7860 Rest. (Appears to be a foot rest for the tail seat orchard operator).
Hi W. Smith, You're welcome. I have a low top seat orchard to work on, but at the moment am in the process of planning a work shop so I have a heated place to work in the winter.

Hi catalac thanks for the help! I didn't know what that plate was called, and now I do!
I also have something to wonder about as I am doing my restoration. Did that possibly come factory on my tractor? (2F2204)

Orchard22, The catalog specifies the fender group as a tail seat attachment. I don't know if the group could have been special ordered on a low top seat arrangement. However, if your fenders were factory, then the foot rest would have been included.
It appears the fenders were intended to keep any dirt thrown up by the tracks off the tailseat operator.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
