Hi all. Here are a few pictures of a gas tank I just finished up for my Thirty.  I made it with two compartments, I’ll use the small one most of the time. It turned out ok I think.  I’m going to plumb it like the parts book shows for a duel fuel setup.  I’m going to put the strainer on the tank instead of hanging off the carburetor.

That is one nice piece of work. Not only the forming but the welding and cutting. Did you use plasma to cut the plates? Not easy to get the dividers welded inside the drum.

That is impressive! Looks like you have done extensive work on the manifolds too.

Great Job.

Thanks. I had my local metal shop roll the main tank and cut all the plates.  I cut the holes in the baffles at home.  I also made a non functional heat box for it awhile back.

looks good now the big question does it leak. would be a good idea to seal it with a fuel tank sealer such as the por15 stuff or red coat now while its new and save a headache later particularly with todays fuel as most petrol now has ethanol and other corrosive additives.

Nice work BP. I like the compartment style tank, no need to fill the large one unless you plan on working it for some time! JM

I forgot to mention that I leak tested both compartments.  I use low pressure air and soapy water to find any leaks. I did find one bubbler on the partition that separates the different tanks.  I checked the big side first, before I welded the end on for the little side.

I’m not sure how I feel about sealing it.  Maybe I will, maybe not.

Very nice job Bruce -
I like the thought of the auxiliary petcock for priming fuel - nice addition.
It would not work in an orchard though - those errant limbs would find it quickly.
I really miss the Thirties and the Sixty -

Very nice work, you're lucky to have a place locally that can roll steel like that. Very impressive to only have one leak on a tank that size. Personally I wouldn't use any sealer if it was mine, I've just heard of to many problems related to the different types of products, although I don't have any direct experience with them

I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
