My 96j doesn’t want to go in gear to change direction working sideways on a steep slope.
It’s worse when warm.
Going up and down slopes it sometimes hesitates going in gear to change direction.
I cleaned filter and replace transmission fluid 30 weight TO.
How much overfull have you got it, most of the older powershift Cats need to be overfilled for hillside work, I know D8's were 20 litres.

I have about half inch above full on my dip stick .
How much can I go over that mark?
Maybe try 1" to 1.5", see if that makes any difference, if not then we have another problem to solve.

Do I need to to have it idle all the way down when shifting.
I never did get and real instructions to run this dozer.
