Is part #8P408 the correct cap for my 1950 seat tank D2 ? Also is Lucas Red N Tacky grease ok for all around lubrication ?
Don’t know the part number, but there were 2 sizes of fuel caps; the D2 used the smaller one.. Don’t know why you couldn’t use the red grease, I’ve used the Chevron version in the past. My motto is any grease better than none! Rollers one should really use the 00 semi fluid grease however. Someone else can chime in if they think differently. JM
The part number for the D2 seat tank fuel cap of that vintage is, 4B5441 aka, 1F6595, 3Y5192, 4A0059, 4B5389,
