breaking plow ??

Couple of old Johndeereplows

Was at the florida flywheelers show couple a years ago and they had one it took a D7 and Td18 to pull will have to see if I have any pics. Jason

Those parts have been on their site for the last 10 years +/-.

Supposedly the owner at the time Gus Collin had Buster Peterson build one of the first DD9's or Quad 9's for deep ripping to break through the layer of Hardpan.
The term Hardpan in this part of world refers to a relatively thin layer of sandstone created during the end of the last Ice age. There are some places such as the Forestiere underground gardens in nearby Fresno, CA where the hardpan is thick enough that early immigrants built homes into the rock to avoid the valley heat. Most places the hard pan is usually only inches thick and about 2' below the sandy topsoil.
