WHAT? Will some sort of rendering of the minutes appear later? I know, aint tecnology great and all but come on.
The information posted on the Board Minutes section under Members states there was a malfunction in the recording instrumentation that is used to transcribe the written minutes. There is a vacant position on the Board of Directors for Secretary. From my understanding, the meetings are held virtually and that is a juggling act to have the ability to meet considering the various time zone differences. There are multiple members of the BoD that are doing their best balancing Work/Home/ACMOC for the good of the Club. I would venture-if anyone has the ability and time to fulfill the duties of those vacancies, their participation would be welcomed. Contact the BoD president or other member for further information on how you can help. - cts
Jbernd56. This is a very secretive club. The volenteers and administrators get testy when ask about business, website problems or anything not machine related. So it’s best to not rock the boat and pat everyone on the back, even if you get handed the sleeve from their vest
Msjoy and Jbernd56, CTS is right, we would welcome anyone that would like to fill the position of board secretary, I'd be happy to talk with you about it any time. As far as being secretive, let me know what you would like to know, I am happy to share anything that I can in regard to the Club. We publish our financials, we publish many other things such as financial support being available to chapters that would like to hold an event or represent the club at a local or regional show, I have also mentioned that anyone or group that would like to plan and organize a national show in North America should do so and get a proposal into the Board. We are in a position to financially support an effort put together by interested members.
I don't think that anyone on the board is looking for "pats on the back", when an issue is brought up, we deal with it as soon and as best we can, this isn't me being "testy", it is simply a reality that the members of the board are performing the tasks of running the club as unpaid volunteers while also having jobs, businesses, families, etc. to take care of. We do the best we can. I have not met a more dedicated bunch of people, we all care about the club, and want the best for all members.
As imperfect as we are, I will say that we are the only Caterpillar oriented club that publishes a magazine, and has a healthy, vibrant online community that actually discusses Caterpillars, and has a deep library of Caterpillar service, parts, and sales information, not to mention a growing membership (probably for these reasons). The members here have deep experience they freely share, and I personally am grateful for them.
There is very little that we won't, or can't make public, feel free to ask anyhing you like, I will respond.
