Sounds like a breaking plow for plowing brush or prairie for breaking new ground. Occasionally you see one around here on auctions in various sizes. i have been keeping an eye out for one that plows 3' wide and 3' deep for the D8 to work with.
Hey ag-mike that looks like Portland! Had my 75 there a few years back. camped under them oak trees in the background lol.
yep it was, i remember that tractor there, but i don't think we met. good luck.
The one in Brownsville Ne was used to turn sand over when the river floods .
ah-ha, thanks. a learning moment
I thought some of you would like to see some pictures of a truly big plough !
These were used in the polders in the Netherlands for soil mixing, and ploughed to a depth of around 2 metres. The bottom meter was raised to the surface and the top metre buried.
I have some superb high resolution b&w pictures showing a man standing in the bottom of the furrow, his head some distance below ground level. Unfortunately I can't work out how to upload these, they are .bmp files and I can't get the filesize down low enough to upload them, any ideas ?
I finally managed to do it....TWICE !!
