Got an Auto Patrol 6K50 with a problem on the diesel side. When the pony is turning it over, the diesel side no longer injects when engaged. Last time I used it, the system worked normally even though it was almost a year ago. I store it inside and can confirm fuel under pressure in the pump head. The rack is free and appears to be sliding normally. I do not have a low fuel condition as the tank is over half full and it is actually diesel.
There seemed to be a bubble of air at the top of the injector 'head'. I purged it with the pony engaged but still no pumping action or smoke from the exhaust.
How much pressure should be expected at the head? (top of pump) What might I be missing here? What is the priming procedure if that is my problem?
I have some waterway finishing that needs to be done before the weather sets in.
Have you loosened the injector lines? Get fuel out?
Also have you ensured that the rack actually moves to the fuel on setting and stays there once you turn it over? I'm thinking maybe the governor isn't out of the "fuel off" position and as soon as you release the rack, it moves back to fuel off as you roll it over.
Pump plungers moving up and down as you roll it over with the pony motor?
