Darrol they are calling for rain here tonight in N.E. Pa. & then tomorrow later will turn to wet snow & continue into Mon.but it seems the forecast changes every time you hear it.It,s in the higher 50s now but to change later. Been a crazy spring as we didn,t get hardly any snow till Feb. then we had two pretty good storms.I guess we,ll have two seasons this year, 4th. of July & winter. They should be getting ready to plant here soon but no way will that happen.A guy south of here set out many acres of new strawberry plants & he had a machine on TV covering them with plastic sheeting to keep them from freezing.Never saw a machine like that to cover plants but was towed behind the tractor along with the planter.
SJ: We have had screwy weather here this winter, was really dry her till December, then been getting good moisture since. Was dry last year, sorry milo and wheat crops. Things look better if wheat survives the cold weather. Been watching weather in your area and to the south which hasn't been good. Darrol

Darrol, this warm weather followed by freezing can't be doing the wheat much good. With yours being a lot farther along that ours here near Oberlin, it looks like it might be really suceptable to the cold snap. With that being said, I thought ours was going to be OK but today the fields are turning an ugly brown that sure can't be a good sign. As we drove home from church we noticed the neighbors brown fields and now that we got home, ours looks just the same. 😞 I think all of western KS is flirting with an abolute disaster on this years wheat. Sounds like a lot of it in the Salina area has been wiped out. 😮 It might be a year that we tear it all up and plant to milo around here.
