Nice looking Deere. My friend that I bought the first 5U D2 from also has a JD 40C. I've been thinking about bringing it home to my "Shelter for neglected tractors". That's just what I need, another project........

You see if you put the John Deere in front of the cat, 👋 then you could say " nothing runs like a deere when being chased by a Cat! 😆

Does the Deere have Steering Clutches, or does it have a differential and steering brakes like the Cletrac?

Steering clutches-& they are a D2-style PIA to get into...the sprockets & finals have to come off first...

has the clutches & pull da lever back further & you get the brake- which ruins my old habits -- I pull the lever & stomp the brake to make a turn & if its a left hand turn all progress comes to a halt as the left pedal happens to be the clutch :jaw😮ld 7 & 8 habits hard to leave behind..

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
