About a month ago I found a 1952 D2 5U about 30 min from home. When I first read the description I thought it might be a good parts machine to support my 1950 5U.  Upon inspection and a quick field repair to the starting engine carb, and a few adjustments to the clutch, it was moving under its own power.  It currently has a toolbar and blade upfront but had been used to pull implements with the toolbar for farming years ago.  It has PTO, good

It seems I somehow did not include the second half of the message. Rookie mistake! Well here is the rest of the message, maybe it was too large with the photos.

It has good PTO and good sheet metal, except for the small cutout in the hood to allow for a not quite correct starter for the starting motor with the solenoid in the wrong position. Other than a few leaks and a stuck steering clutch (home to a family of mice a few years ago) it is in much better condition than the previous owner had told me!

The timing was perfect as I had been looking for dry storage to get my ‘50 5U out from under a tarp. Found a new home in a machinery shed across from a friend who is a local farmer 10 min from my home! So I was able have them both hauled at the same time and here are a few pictures!

Most of all I want to thank all the contributors past and and present that have shared their knowledge, experience, and stories! It has been tremendously valuable, helpful and entertaining to me. I have been reading the BB for a couple years and became a member almost a year ago. I enjoy reading the BB, and technical library most days of the week as I try to learn all I can!

Thank you,
Frank

Great find! And good to see them in a dry place. Nice plow day tractors! Where are you located?

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
