Hi this is the project in the shop at this time 9u 9422. The engine was sick so a full rebuild was needed on that. Back end was all good track gear was fit for the scrap bin, at some time there was a oil clutch fitted so the tractor was worth fixing. D5 track gear is going back on it as you can see in the pics it is far from show room rebuild but this will be used at the odd show with my 10RB I have. The 8u in the pics is a parts machine I have been stealing from. Will be blasting and painting tomorrow to try and get it back together more pics to come as it moves along if that's ok.
Looks good!!! I'd deal with those carrier roller stands now before you reassemble unless you have removed and replaced and anit-seized the cap screws already. For some reason Cat used fine threads on these and are usually stuffed. I replaced mine with coarse thread helicoils and cap screws.
Slow day to day but still got the c frame blasted and painted and sprockets done. Would of been good to find some better track frames as you can see they are have bad pitting on them but happy to just make it all run again. The 8u is looking very sick as more is pulled off it to be stored in the shed for the future.
