Hello All
My 944 has a number of issues with the rear steer axle and I have found a complete replacement but I was wondering what its weight would be. The seller thinks around.5000 pounds but that would be almost a quarter of the entire machines weight. I think maybe around 2500.

Thanks

Phil

Hi, PhilC.
I don't have any figures to quote but I think that even with planetary hubs included, your figure would be a lot closer to reality.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Hello Deas
Sorry I forgot about this thread.
I picked up the axle today and I weighed it when I got it home and it is 2700 pounds or 1230kg without wheels and each wheel weighs 330 pounds or 150kg. The 2700 pounds includes about three feet of chassis.

Regards

Phil

Hi, PhilC.
AHA! So the 'second guess' figure of 2500# would have been almost right on the money without the 3 feet of chassis.

Good stuff.
