I found a # 40 scraper, need to know the spec's and what it is worth. may need 1 rear tire, will have to replace all of the lines, Looks to be in working condition but need to hook it to a tractor to check it out. thanks Bob

Hi Bob,
Nice find.....anywhere from scrap value to $10k restored....common around $5-6k for good working models.

Is there a mechanical way to lock the pan in the raised positon? Sometime there is a bar you can swing over and place a pin or bolt in to hold it up.

Yes, on top of the goose neck there is two 1-1/2" +/- diameter holes. One is off set to the side. There should be a pin in this hole. It stores the pin only. With the bowl in the raised position, move the pin to the center hole. Now let the bowl down. Inside the goose neck is a cylinder that will bottom out against the pin, locking the bowl in the up position.-glen
