This motor was set up to run an Amish Sawmill. The motor sat outside covered very poorly for a long period of time. It was brought to my shop to get running. The engine was stuck, pulled the head. One cylinder was full of water and 1 piston was burnt. So I put 2 cylinder packs in, reworked the head and replaced 1 nozzle. Got it started to test run. It started up, idled well, then started black smoking and skipping. Cracked the lines loose at the pump. The one at the front of the pump had no fuel. Then it started idling up like it was going to run away. When I unhooked the solenoid, it took a minute to shut down. I can understand the skipping and black smoke being a hung nozzle, but what about the pump not pumping on 1 line? What is the best way to check this thing out and see what is going on?

The one pump is seized, possibly some more are too , the pump quadrant is holding the rack, you are lucky it didn't run away, get the complete injection pump off and away to a pump shop.

Check the rubber air/fuel ratio diaphragm also.
