I am re-assembling my 22 which I fully dis-assembled, included taking the channels that make up the track roller frames apart so that some really ugly hardware could be replaced. Inside each of the collars that hold the track roller shaft there is a washer about 3/16" thick and a shim about 0.010" thick. Some of the collars had two shims on any given side. On re-assembly I find that some of the track rollers will bind up solid unless only 1 shim is used in one of the collars on a give shaft. Maybe it is just the way the structural members of the frame went back together but any advice would be appreciated.
I believe sometimes the shims can be used to help align the rollers so they all line up straight.
You can take out shims but binding too tight is unusual. Maybe the frame rails are bent or washers are not seated. I have rebuilt 2 22 undercarraiges and too loose is the usual problem.
