Thanks trainzkid88! Hope Lance of Bundy Bears Shed fame will be there, I enjoy his YouTube channel, tell him he’s got a fan in Scotland if you see him!
yes he possibly will. lance is president of the rum city vintage machinery club. a very knowledgeable tractor mechanic has a soft spot for john deere and fergueson tractors.
they were gunna have a plough day at our grounds last month but it pissed down rain.

Trainkid88 , On the Yesteryear club Facebook page there was a guy asking when the rally was to be held . He said he had just bought a Cat 60 and a 2 ton and would like to bring them . Unfortunately no one had got back to him. I don't know about you , but i would love to see them at the rally .
Well , I turned up for the "Rally????????"Drove 150 KM each way . Arrived to find no one at the gate . No crowd and no real display .There was an International wheel tractor which appeared to be there to cut the grass . Two Massey Furguson TE20 wheel tractors . And the Caterpillar 60 . Was told the guy brought it all the way up from Brisbane . There were about 12 stationary engines .
After speaking to few people i knew there . Come to find out it was never going to be their rally . It was just a club get together .
Disappointing , VERY disappointing .
well it was to be the rally. but with the fuel situation it was decided that we would keep it lowkey single day this year.
also some advertising didnt get done as i was sick with the flu the week before.
that sixty was in pretty good knick for its age. the fella that brought it up was only the driver his boss bought it and the d2 at auction I was talking to him for a while.
trying to find a date that works for everyone and is away from wet weather. a number of the committee members work in the sugar industry so the crushing season takes their time they also happen to be the people who actually do the organising and setting up. like most clubs you might have 50 members but only a handful actually do anything.
rum city have their rally in august

Wouldn't it been an idea to post here to say it had been changed ? It was a 2 ton bought with the Cat 60 , not a D2.
anyone was welcome if they wanted to display or have a look. and yes if you don't advertise no one shows up. doesn't help other events are on too. also when the the rest of the committee is a bit lasiz fair. hey we dropped the ball. and yes it was a holt 2 ton.
we have had locals complain in the past it was 2 far to drive 26 km out of town to attend a event, when you do it in about 25 minutes.
i can understand you were disappointed ian. I was a bit disappointed too.

To be honest , the rally has been in decline since Ray Heale was deposed as club president .
Between Ray and Bevan over half of the tractors at the rallies back then were theirs .
Ray was not everyones cup of tea But he organized a pretty good rally .
