What is your location and do you need early or late model winch. I have an early model off a 5-J. In western Pa.

The winch I have is the early model Hyster D2 off a 1944 model. not the one the later tractors take, I think it is a Hyster D2N . Too far away to ship anyway.

Hi Jack,
there's no mounting difference in the main winch case is there? I have a Hyster D2 winch (not D2N) that I was planning to put on my 5U. I don't have the top bracket so that needs to be made anyway, but if it's not going to actually fit the 5U, then maybe I could let it go. I thought they were largely interchangeable

There is no Hyster winch mounting difference on any of the D2's, the only differences are, there are several different shift lever and brake lever arrangements. The D2N is the later Model, the difference between the D2 and D2N is the D2N is built a little more stout throughout, both work well when maintained properly.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
