Edit: found one - thanks

Thanks, in part, to a couple of members here, I'm in the market for a D2 with a blade. Looking for a mid-late model with electric start pony or an elec start conversion. I'm not afraid to turn wrenches, but would prefer that it is mostly ready to go since there's a dirt working project lined up for it (not too interested in something that has been sitting in the grove for 25 years with stuck engines/clutches/etc).

Located in central IA and not afraid of a reasonable road trip (up to two states away, depending on direction).

Thanks in advance.

I know you asked for a d2, but I have a d4d with a rebuilt engine, electric start with glow plugs, 4 way blade. Located between cedar rapids and waterloo Ia. Could deliver. If interested I can email or text pictures 563-920-1216

What are you asking for the D4? I have a nice D2 I might sell if I can replace it with a D4. Maybe we can work out a 3 way deal. I have pickup and delivery options in the yard also.

I have a 1953 D2 with forestry canopy, D2N winch, and Cat hydraulic straight blade. Keep inside for last 35 years and works great. Had it out discing day before yesterday. Tracks and rails are 60%, pads are like near new. It spent its working life with the MN Dept of Forestry pulling a fire plow on occasion. Low hour machine with new Cat installed steering clutches and brakes less than 200 hours ago. I am looking for a D4 so maybe I can deal with Sandcreek and sell you mine if I can work out purchasing his. I have delivery options setting in the yard.

Sounds like that could work out. I'll send you both a pm and reply to any other pm's.

I'd really like to go with a D4, but I'm somewhat limited with my current trailer (and I want to be able to move it myself in the future). I can put roughly 10k on the trailer deck.

There is a few pictures on the site already. If you search for D2 and my handle you should see some of me clearing some hunting trails last early spring and there is also a couple pictures in the picture post from the national event this later summer. It has Sasquatchs fire plow hooked up at the national. I will take a few more if I get home before dark today and post.

Edit, I found a few on my Ipad. First is the fall meeting of Chapter 3 at our home. You can see part of the D2 in the picture to the left. Second Garlic Mon and Mog5858 headed to the parade at Edgerton. The last is Jan Meermans on the plow and myself playing at the national.

That's nice Roger that you brought a professional model from CA. to show off your tractor in the second picture. If you make the sale she should get a little kickback!

Hey Bob,

Don't overlook the contribution of the "male model" from CA in the third picture! Actually there was also a "male model" from Il, Ryan (Truckun95) on there with me but you can barely make him out. All we succeeded in doing was making a long "shiney" spot on the ground it was so hard! If we had been out in the woods, that fire would have jumped way over the fire break we were making.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
